The Christmas break is coming.  And that’s the time to prepare for 2022. Here are the five ways I’m going to do it.

  1. Develop my purpose, mission and vision.

Developing a sense of purpose for my business, giving it a mission and vision are critical and Christmas is just the time to do it.

My purpose is to communicate informative content about businesses to educate, entertain and connect the public with the business’s products and services

My mission is to communicate the information through multiple platforms: blogs, feature article, podcasts

My vision is to stand out in the market with blogs, books, articles and communicate ideas that are left of field. It’s about taking risks and focusing on the few.

2. Develop a marketing plan

To stand out from the marketing gimmicks, I use email marketing and MailChimp.  It’s most effective with the highest conversion rate because I have a robust email list.

Social media is also important. I use Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. It’s a strategy that builds an audience and trust. It is a great way to interact with your audience to really connect with them on a personal level and to tell your story. It builds deep connections.

3 Set goals

I will spend the next few weeks setting goals and preparing a plan for each goal. I will set sub-goals.  What are the things that need to be done to make sure I achieve each goal? How many blogs should I be aiming for? Where are the best candidates for podcasts? What kind of business needs feature articles? How effective are the plans for my next books?

4 Network

I will be spending time building and connecting with my networks. It will help me expand my ability to find new customers and grow my business. As Robert Best points out, networking will generate leads with potential clients. It will increase my brand’s visibility and connections, provide helpful advice, keep me up to date with the latest news, help others and create friendships. My best network right now is BNI.

 5. Take a break.

Importantly, I will take a break for a few days. I will visit friends on a farm near Colac, have dinner with more friends in Mt Martha and Ballarat. It’s important to take for a few days trips to recharge my batteries for 2022.
