CONTENT STRATEGY IS THE PLAN BUSINESSES USE TO CREATE CONTENT (AUDIO, VISUAL AND TEXT) TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS.
The successful content strategy attracts the target audiences.
Here are my 5 steps to creating a content strategy:
1. Define the audience
It is important to understand who the audience is. There might be two different audiences and customers. The content strategy I develop addresses both types of audiences: those who are already committed customers and those who are thinking about it. It has to be tailored to each
2. Identify the problem you are solving for your audience.
My content strategy has to be addressing the problem the audience might have and offering solutions.
3. Focusing on the right content format
To meet the audience where they are, I always do research. Some might prefer a podcast, others might prefer a video. It’s an issue that I always have to solve.
4. Work out the social media
One of the issues I always look at is the kind of social media the audience might prefer. I always have to work out what works best for the business and audience Some might prefer long-form video content, so I may choose YouTube. With a younger audience that likes quick content, I might use TikTok and Instagram.
5. What makes the business unique?
My client’s competitors will have pretty much the same kind of product so my writing will need to focus on what makes the brand unique. What is its competitive advantage?
